Harvest Leaders
Starting in 2024, community members can be trained as a Harvest Leader and then help lead gleans during the season. If you are interested in being a Harvest Leader, fill out the INTEREST FORM.
What are Harvest Leaders?
Harvest Leaders lead gleans for Gorge Gleaning during the busy season and gain valuable skills in the process, as well as a stipend for their time.
Gorge Gleaning staff will coordinate with farmers and neighbors to set up gleans. Staff first notifies Harvest Leaders. Harvest Leaders then assign themselves to a glean and they are responsible for leading volunteers in harvesting the crop on the day of the glean and also transporting the produce to our food access partners.
